I use this verse in context ... and I use it in a sense of waiting ... waiting upon the Lord today for His will to be played out. For those of you who don't know, My friend Naomi, my two children and I were supposed to fly out to Honduras today on a missions trip ... a trip of two months, today. Spirit Air has canceled their flights for this weekend and that leaves us stranded. We have volunteered ourselves to do work there for the summer and we have a house rented too.
Wondering if our trip is in the Lord's will is not what is happening in my head right now. He has made it SO clear of His will in this. I did wonder once, "Is this just His way of seeing if I would step out in faith?" Well, last night I attended church and the message was about authority. I didn't initially believe there would be anything regarding the tough decisions I had to confront this weekend ... until the teacher mentioned something about "... if God called you to go there ... if He is your authority ..." ... Well, his point was that we would obey it .. that we would show our faith this way. At that moment, they called me to go pick up my daughter. I walked away knowing that the Lord was still in this and still guiding us to Honduras. He clarified that further with things my husband Chris had been reading last night ...
I would love to sit here and write on and on all the CLEAR ways He's visibly shown us to go, including the extent of the events from last night .. I have been keeping a journal. But, as of right now I want to finish this with letting you know that as of right now, Spirit is only refunding money and good prices on plane tickets are hard to come by. There are a total of 4 of us and we have to leave in the next couple of days ... If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. If you can all please pray for the Lord to guide us clearly and for His will to be played out ... please do! I had a moment last night where a verse just popped into my head ... 2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight. ..... Pray for us as we await on Him and not look at our circumstances.
May the Lord speak to you today! - Catalina
